Hey, hey..... we're lookin good these days. We keep adding new things every week. Last week was a whole new line of yarns: Cascade! Yes, it's true. And one of the many lovely yarns they have is Pastaza .... our favorite becuz it's half llama and half sheep. 86 bee yew tif full colors.
The consignment room is starting to look great.... thanks to Dale. She just glommed onto new display equipment, painted the floor, and is working her butt off.
Next upcoming fun thing is Demo Day this Saturday, October 9th.... demo-ing weaving, spinning, needlefelting, primitive rug hooking, knitting, etc...... having cookies, cider and fun. (Yes, it's free.....) (All day)
Now that the weather is chilling out, we are, too. Starting to think about knitting sweaters, afghans and bigger projects. Oh, boy.
Our very own Susan Pack is going to be teaching art classes (yes, really) at our new store. We have a great almost ready classroom now. Gotta do something with it! So Susan (a certified art teacher with tons of experience) is going to offer drawing, watercolor, paper making, fiber art and more.... and art birthday parties.... Whoa, like whoa..... check us out. Call.... major fun...
Okay. We're open in the new store. NOW what? Well!!!! NOW we have room for "stuff." STASH BASH at Twisted Warp & Skeins: Saturday November 20th, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Do you have stash everywhere...??? Odds and end of yarns, or projects or whatever, that you will not ever use? Maybe you can't even remember what you bought it for? Well, here is your chance to get new yarns, new projects.
Here's how it works: You put the items you want to sell in a large plastic bag (we have them here). You decide how much you want to sell it for and then mark it with that price. Someone comes in to the Stash Bash, BUYS your old stuff, then YOU get that much money in Stash Cash from Twisted Warp & Skeins to use in the store.
So, see? You get rid of your OLD stuff, get NEW stuff, and it doesn't cost you a penny. Such a deal!
Yes! We HAVE moved. We are now in our new store (2 blocks east of the old store but a world of difference). It was a major effort getting here but we have many great friends that helped us along the way.
The new store is not only bigger .... we now have a classroom, a consignment area AND a parking lot. Everyone coming in to the new store says "Wow
Ok, that was one of the most seriously painfully fun weekends I've (we"ve?) had in a long, long, long, long time. And it looks like it's going to be an annual event. So start saving your money, honey, we're doing it again NEXT year. And keep in mind those off-the-wall skeins of yarn so that we can play the Skein Game again. Let's see..... Skein Game, Charades, Add-a-Purl/pearl, shopping at the yarn store in Battle Creek, eating a Win Schuler's, Turkeyville and the Dixie Swim Club, the master knitter and her yarn tattoo.... singing Christmas carols, the ghost, knitting, eating, partying, talking our faces off, laughing until we peed our pants... yes, kids. We had a great time. And thank you Twisted Groupies for the wonderful, surprising gift to Dale and me. Wow. Totally unexpected! Seed money for next year. That was amazing. You guys are the best. We couldn't ask for a better, or more fun group of women to hang out with. It was great seeing everyone. You came from all over to hang out with us, Pennsylvania, Ohio, Indiana, Michigan. And the hotel...wasn't it gorgeous? It was just the perfect spot. Let's hope they let us come back NEXT year.... (that we didn't trash it too much...).
Only 6 more days, count em.... 6. Oh, and a wakeup. Are ya getting excited out there? Huh, are ya? There will be 32 of us going to the National House Inn in Marshall, Michigan, for the knit therapy weekend. 6. More. Days. (and a wake-up)
OOOOH Whee! Snow! Only brave Jean D showed up for Knit Nite last nite. And she went home early, so we did, too. The roads were seriously nasty. Jean says we are the "Peak of her week" and she wouldn't miss it. Suzanne, you would have been here, too, you dedicated knitters, you... Actually, we are blaming this snow on you anyway, Suzanne. Just because YOU got 16 inches of the stuff, doesn't mean WE need that much, ok? And please to note that there will be NO SNOW on the 19th, 20th or 21st of February. NONE! We have people driving from all over everywhere and we want them to come to our Girls' GetAway weekend safely. Ok?
Yarn it...yarn it....yarn it.... We made it to FOUR (4) years old. Yes, it's true! We turn 4 on Sunday. We will be celebrating with cake, chocolate, of course, on Tuesday at Knit Nite. Hard to believe that we are going into our 5th year already. Thank you, friends, for all of your support and kindness for the past 4 years. Rock on to the NEXT 4 years.
